When you run a business, there are lots of moving parts to be concerned about. You have a building to choose, IT Services, employees to hire, and then there is the office copier to lease as well. When you work with a copier company there are many options you can consider. As you decide what copier to lease, you will want to make some initial choices. The first important decision is how long you would like the lease to be for. The most common copier lease term is 5 years (60 months).
If you have been leasing a copier, you know there are a few parts of a copier lease you will want to pay attention to.
- First, there is the equipment cost. This is the cost of the copier itself.
- Second, there is a supplies and service agreement as well.
When you are leasing a copier, you need to add in both parts in order to arrive at the total. For example, if the copier is $100 per month, and then you print 1000 color and 1000 black and white which costs 7 cents a print and a penny per print, you would get a total of $77 for the supplies and service plan. This would average out to $177 per month for 60 months. The TCO would be $10,620 for the copier. If your quote is $10 a month, some clients would switch companies, but that is really only $600 total over 5 years.
