Which color copier is right for you if you care most about print?

The C8130 and C8135 tend to be a good fit for most small businesses. Where they tend to fail is when the client does a ton of scanning. The units on the lower end of the copier line have a scanner that doesn’t do both sides at once, like the faster copier units do.

One interesting thing is there is not that much of a difference in the print quality between any of the above units. The biggest difference is print speed. 30, 35, 45, 55, or 70 pages a minute. If print speed matters to you, you want to go up the series. We find for most people going 35 ppm or 70 ppm doesn’t make that huge of a difference.

This follows the same logic. The B8045 is 45 pages per minute and the B8170 is 70 pages a minute. The last 2 numbers are the print speed on all of the Xerox altalink printer product family.

What is Xerox Connectkey technology?

Basically, it is a platform, which allows for consistency across models and for apps to be added and accepted on the multifunction printer. It tends to help large workgroups because there can be interfaces made for each group member depending on what and how they use the office copier.

The lower units, even though the basic print engine is the same as the higher units, have different monthly print volume suggestions. The main reason for this is because better componets are used on the higher end products.

The toner cartridge system for a Xerox printer is designed to span the whole family so you could have a 30 ppm, 35 ppm and a 70 ppm machine at the same office, using the same printing supplies and toner cartridge but the print speed would be different depending on where you placed the Xerox unit.
